Featuring the vibrant acrylic works of South Korean painter Jae Bee Ryoo. Unlike traditional still life that focuses on the decay of the subject, Ryoo employs vivid colors to capture emotion and life in her images.

First explosed to counted cross-stitching by friends and relatives, for more than 25 years Baker’s interest grew in the craft challenging him to take on more complex projects. His favorite subjects include buildings, animals, and custom designed pieces that can be used as gifts for special occasions such as weddings, births, retirements, and graduations. Baker is the Director of Penn State’s Fraternity and Sorority Life.

This collection features more than 20 photographs divided into three categories- people in gritty circumstances, architectural studies and female figures. After serving the Centre Region for more than 20 years as a professional photographer, fairs, dives, diners and the streets became Fong’s destination to find his subjects.

Location: Art on the Move- Penn State’s Student Health Center

Zooming in on her subjects to the point of abstraction, Pasqual0 seeks to make the focus of her works more about the light, the colors and the reflections in them. Picking objects that tend to be overlooked in daily life, her paintings find the beauty in the mundane.

Inspired by cosmopolitan themes and the way color can express emotional intensity, Wilson uses color and shape to occupy memories of her audience. Her art reflects the amalgam that is an African American identity and a tribute to her European, Latin American and Caribbean ancestry.

By 1970, Penn State had one of the most extensive women’s athletics programs in the nation with 11 varsity sports.  This was 2 years before Title IX legislation.  By the mid 1970′s, Penn State offered a total of 14 varsity sports.  The women have gone on to thrive here at Penn State breaking records and winning national championships.

Exhibit located in the Penn State All-Sports Museum, attached to Beaver Stadium, access along curtain road.

Time: 1 to 4:30 pm

The show opens the season at the Bellefonte Museum and helps celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Linn House, home to the museum. 

From the Civil War to WW I, women of PA created silk embroidery first for pleasure and then to add to the family income- they ended up starting labor organizations and helped bring 12 silk thread factories to PA.

More than 25,000 Commonwealth citizens served with the 28th Infantry Division in World War One.  This temporary exhibit will showcase the souvenir items that soldiers bought, found, traded or made to commemorate their experiences.  Pennsylvania Military Museum admission required to view exhibit. Closed Mondays.
